Why are we exploring animations on an application focused more on photo editing?

Motion and transition is the next step for user generated content output. The editor workflow provides the right opportunity to our users to imbibe basic animations & transitions to our users.

Who are our users? For social consumers who wants to create basic animations and transitions in collage .

How?

Use of basic animation & transitions in an editor output. Building upon the basic offerings of animation to combine multiple transitions as an effect in future. Content transitions & Transitions applied on single cell.

Animation Touch points Mind-Map

Animation types in Ps Express are classified in three key buckets:

Animating the elements of an image: ( this would be possible with an effective object recognition model coupled with defined transitions which can be applied on the selected object )

Animating the components : eg: any sticker , text applied to the image can have a transition applied on it. As a user you may choose to only apply transition to the selected component while the rest of the image is static) The transitions in itself can be triggered by a HUD or an Attributor tab of the components in itself.

Animating the canvas Animation can also be initiated on the canvas in itself. This can be made by manually applying animation from the bottom tools menu in editor or by applying preset/ template animation through animated themes

Attributes of the animation feature Irrespective of the animation touch-points, Animation in itself will have three key attributes which would allow a user to control the flow of motion on the components and canvas:

Speed Direction Trigger
